Mohammed Siraj’s 181 km/h Delivery: A Speed Gun Howler Creates Online Pandemonium
Cricket fans were left stunned for a brief moment when a speed gun clocked Mohammed Siraj delivering a ball at a staggering 181.6 km/h during the day-night Test against Australia in Adelaide. This was not only a throwback to Shoaib Akhtar’s record of 161.3 km/h in 2003, but it also led to a meme fest on social media.
The misreading happened at the 25th over of Australia’s innings, where Siraj delivered a short ball to Marnus Labuschagne, who steered it for a boundary. Fans took to social media to make fun of the glitch and turned the moment into an online sensation.
While there was an issue with the technical set-up related to Siraj’s “record-breaking” delivery, the ICC may penalise him for a different incident in the over. Siraj got frustrated seeing that Labuschagne was withdraw due to distraction near the sightscreen and threw the ball towards the batter which is against the ICC rules.
Redmi Note 14 5G India Launch Set for December 9
Xiaomi India has announced the coming of its much-awaited Redmi Note 14 series on December 9. The lineup includes Redmi Note 14 5G, Note 14 Pro, and Note 14 Pro+, and the latter will be high-end feature devices to capture the mid-range market.
The Redmi Note 14 5G is generating a lot of buzz, featuring a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 camera and sporting a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It features a 5,110 mAh battery with 45W fast charging, along with a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra processor. This will be priced starting at ₹21,999 for the base model.
Availability on Amazon India has already been confirmed; its sleek design and striking colors speak for themselves. Fans would eagerly be able to look forward to the HyperOS 2.0-equipped device, allowing seamless performance and privacy.
Bihar Protests: Khan Sir and Guru Rahman Detained
Popular Patna lecturers, Khan Sir and Guru Rahman, arrested on Friday amidst protests opposing the proposed “normalization” of scores in the next Bihar Public Service Commission Preliminary Exam. Protesting students, civil service aspirants had sought a written assurance of not implementing normalization by BPSC Chairman R.B. Parmar.
Normalization aims to bridge the gap that may be found between multiple shifts for an exam, but according to the students, the character of General Studies questions doesn’t allow for such equalization. BPSC Secretary Satya Prakash Sharma said he has no plan for normalization. However, the protesters still insisted on a formal notice in the paper.
“The subject is not mathematics wherein marks are measurable. General studies exams cannot be normalized without diluting merit,” Khan Sir said.
Abhishek Singhvi Demands Probe Into Rajya Sabha Cash Row
Congress MP Abhishek Singhvi has sought an inquiry after a wad of cash was found on his Rajya Sabha seat. Singhvi dismissed allegations of misconduct, describing the incident as a serious security lapse.
“It’s absurd to politicize every issue,” Singhvi said, adding that measures like lockable enclosures for MPs’ seats should be introduced to prevent similar incidents. He also mooted the possibility of barbed wire or glass barriers to enhance security.
Singhvi said the matter should be thoroughly investigated to identify how the money ended up on his seat.
Pragya Nagra in Controversy Over Alleged Leaked Video
One more Malayalam actress, Pragya Nagra is in the news for having an alleged private video. The authenticity of the video has not been verified. However, this has resurfaced the issue of privacy of celebrities.
Past incidents where videos of actresses and influencers leaked have raised questions about cyber safety and the intentional targeting of public figures. In other similar cases, such as that of Pakistani influencer Minahil Malik, claims of self-leaked content for publicity have been added to the controversy.
Till date, Pragya Nagra has not spoken about the video.

James Tooley, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buckingham, has been suspended after allegations that he had an affair with a young woman from Hyderabad. The woman alleged that Tooley had funded her education and that their relationship turned romantic when she was in her twenties.
The scandal broke out after Tooley’s wife, Cynthia, presented the diaries of the woman as evidence to the university. Tooley has denied the allegations as “baseless and malicious.
