SBI Clerk Mains Admit Card 2025 Released for Upcoming Exam
The State Bank of India (SBI) released the admit cards for the Junior Associates Mains Exam 2025 on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, which is a major milestone for exam aspirants getting ready for this pivotal test. Prospective bankers are now able to download their hall tickets from the official SBI careers website at sbi.co.in/web/careers using their registration number and password.
The mains examination will be held on April 10 and April 12, 2025, after releasing initial exam results on March 28, 2025, which decided on the candidature of candidates reaching this level.
In order to go into the exam hall, candidates need to bring their authenticated initial exam call letter along with the mains admit card, along with a valid photo identification like a passport, Aadhar card, PAN card, driving license, voter’s card, or a bank passbook with a photograph.
SBI has clarified that absence of submitting a self-attested photocopy of the ID along with the call letter—or any hesitation regarding the identity of a candidate—will exclude them from appearing for the test. The mains exam of 2 hours and 40 minutes will contain 190 questions with a total of 200 marks, including General/Financial Awareness (50 marks), General English (40 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks), and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (60 marks), that will examine a wide range of skills required for banking positions.
Punjab Pastor Bajinder Singh Sentenced to Life in 2018 Rape Case
A court in Mohali handed down a landmark judgment on Tuesday, sentencing self-styled Punjab pastor Bajinder Singh to life imprisonment in an 2018 rape case in Zirakpur. The verdict, which came after he was convicted last week under Sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, has finally ended a traumatic experience for the victim. While Bajinder was hit with the brunt of the law, five of his co-accused, including pastors Jatinder and Akbar and Sattar Ali and Sandeep Pehalwan, were acquitted, leaving all the limelight on the much-controversial figure for his “Yeshu Yeshu” shouting. Redrafted Waqf Bill Includes All 25 JPC Recommendations
The National Democratic Alliance made public a revised Waqf (Amendment) Bill on Tuesday, to be debated in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, incorporating all 25 recommendations of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). This law revamps the Islamic charitable endowment framework, providing for non-Muslim membership on waqf boards and granting the government the authority to conduct land surveys, a step the government says addresses managerial issues, but which the Opposition cautions will undermine constitutional freedoms.
A central provision requires one to be an practicing Muslim for more than five years to donate property to waqf, restoring pre-2013 wording. The bill amends the controversial “waqf by user” provision—earlier to be retrospectively repealed—to extend only prospectively, protecting current registered waqf properties unless they are under dispute or owned by the government.
Waqf land surveys will now be carried out by officers above collector rank to stem frivolous claims, while new regulations guarantee women’s inheritance rights before property dedication, with special protection for widows, divorcees, and orphans. Mumbai Police Issue Third Summons to Kunal Kamra Over Shinde Remarks

German Woman Alleges Rape by Car Driver in Hyderabad
A 22-year-old German woman alleged she was raped by a car driver in Hyderabad on Monday night, leading to immediate police action, including the detention of the suspect, according to a senior official quoted by PTI. The woman, who had come to the city since March 4 with a fellow countryman to visit a friend, claimed the assault took place after she had accepted a ride from the driver and his five minor friends in Meerpet. After visiting some places and clicking pictures, the driver dropped off his friends and her friend, and took her to a remote location near Mamidipally at about 7:30 p.m., where he is said to have attacked her in the guise of further photography. After the attack, he escaped, but the victim, with the help of her friend, lodged a complaint, resulting in a medical checkup and an ongoing investigation into this horrific act.

Ghaziabad Property Owners to Face Penalties for Outstanding 2024-25 Taxes
The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is taking action against 94,920 property owners who have not yet paid their 2024-25 property taxes, translating to Rs 40-45 crore in unrecovered revenue.
