Indian Army Day 2025 Celebrations to Feature Grand ‘Gaurav Gatha’ Light and Sound Show
The 77th Indian Army Day would be celebrated in great fanfare on January 15, 2025, at Pune, Maharashtra. This year the function would include a scintillating light and sound show titled ‘Gaurav Gatha’ that would unfold the history of Indian warfare right from ancient times to the present. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is also likely to attend the landmark event.
The event will take place at the Bhagat Pavilion of the Bombay Engineers Group (BEG) and Centre under the Army’s Southern Command. It will utilize the latest laser and multimedia technology. The event is inspired by Indian epics such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as modern wars. The event will focus on key themes, including ‘Prachin Ranniti,’ ‘Yudh Kala,’ and ‘Vijayotsav.’
This includes kick-offing a mega parade at Pune, wherein the theme would be ‘Samarth Bharat, Saksham Sena’ – along with displays of the Nepal Army band, an all-girl NCC contingent, and even robotic mules. It is said to include a particular show of 35 minutes where the history would seem to come alive as it tells the tales of iconic warriors Lord Ram, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mangal Pandey, and Bhagat Singh.
Jailer 2 Teaser leaves fans impressed
The much-awaited sequel, Jailer 2, to hit the silver screen soon, is the eagerly awaited sequel of the 2023 Tamil block buster movie Jailer. The teaser released on the occasion of Makar Sankranti swept the internet; fans are full of praise and admiration for “swag and electrifying Rajinikanth”.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the teaser is a cinematic feast, opening with dramatic cyclone warning screens, followed by spine-chilling action sequences in which knives and bullets fly across the screen and culminate into superstar’s captivating entry. Teaser, out in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, has already received tremendous accolades.
The teaser has definitely received widespread appreciation in the public. “Rajini is really the record maker and breaker of Kollywood. This one’s going to be huge!” a fan commented. Jailer 2 will release in 2026, and pre-production work is already underway, and fans begin to speculate that it will be Rajinikanth’s first globally ₹1,000 crore film.

Deadline Looms: Two Days Left to File Revised Income Tax Returns
Taxpayers now have only two days left to submit revised or belated Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the financial year 2023-24. The Bombay High Court had earlier brought relief by granting an extension till January 15, 2025, in order to help taxpayers claim section 87A rebate on special incomes like short-term capital gains on equity shares.
Income Tax Department The ITD recently revised the ITR utility to support the rebate offered by the government on this new tax regime. It has, however made the taxpayers apply for the rebate manually before verifying their revised return.
Tax experts have called upon the taxpayers to act forthwith so they do not invite more hassle from the tax department or penalize themselves for their sloth.
“The new utility does not automatically calculate the rebate amount and hence caution has to be exercised by the taxpayer in filing revised returns,” said CA Pratibha Goyal, a Delhi-based chartered accountant.

Maharashtra Schools to Mandate State Anthem in Assemblies
Maharashtra has brought in significant reforms in its school education system to instill cultural pride among students. From this year, the state anthem ‘Jaya Jaya Maharashtra Majha’ will be sung daily in all schools along with the national anthem.
The reforms also include CBSE-aligned curricula, smart classrooms in cluster schools, and geo-tagging of pre-primary institutions to improve monitoring. Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse said, “These reforms are to create a sense of state pride while modernizing the educational framework.”
