Mehul Choksi Arrested in Belgium in ₹13,500 Crore PNB Fraud Case
After going on the run for years, fugitive entrepreneur Mehul Choksi has been detained in Belgium at the behest of Indian law enforcement. Choksi, notorious for his suspected role in the Punjab National Bank’s giant ₹13,500 crore loan fraud, was living in Antwerp with his wife after he obtained a residency card. His detention, which happened on Saturday, comes after India made a formal extradition request to Belgian authorities.
After Interpol Red Notice was withdrawn against Choksi, the CBI as well as the Enforcement Directorate increased pressure for extradition. Pastor John Jebaraj Arrested in Sexual Assault Case Involving Children
Popular pastor and gospel singer John Jebaraj has been arrested by Kerala police after he was accused of sexually abusing two minor girls at his house in Coimbatore. The 37-year-old, who was the head of the King Generation Prayer Hall and was popular for his Christian concerts, had been on the run for months.
Police finally arrested him in Munnar on the basis of a tip-off. He is now charged under the POCSO Act. The crime reportedly took place at Jebaraj’s house during a party in May 2024, and only surfaced recently when one of the victims told the family. Investigations reveal that although the attack was not penetrative, it is still covered under the definition of serious child abuse.

Aged Kannada actor Bank Janardhan, a household name in south Indian cinema, passed away at 77.
