  1. Andhra Pradesh Celebrates Historic AP Inter Results for 2025

On Saturday, April 12, Andhra Pradesh was swept over with pride as the Board of Intermediate Education (BIEAP) released the AP Inter 1st and 2nd Year results for 2025, recording the highest pass percentages in a decade. The revelation, which was issued at approximately 11 a.m., flaunted a 70 percent passing rate among 1st-year candidates and a phenomenal 83 percent among 2nd-years, bettering last year’s 67 percent and 78 percent, respectively. Girls got the most attention, as 71 percent passed at 1st year against 64 percent for girls, and 81 percent at 2nd year against 75 percent for boys. Enthusiastic students keen to look up their results can log into bieap.apcfss.in or resultsbie.ap.gov.in, accessing digital mark sheets listing subject-by-subject performance. Mark sheets in original will arrive at schools later, but until then, these e-documents will power Class 12 admissions and onwards, a red-letter day for Andhra’s young minds.

  1. Modi Welcomes BJP-AIADMK Alliance Revival for Tamil Nadu’s 2026 Contest

Prime Minister Narendra Modi set the political scene ablaze on Friday evening with a celebratory X post, as the Bharatiya Janata Party renewed its old alliance with Tamil Nadu’s AIADMK ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. The partnership, severed in September 2023 over then-BJP state chief Annamalai’s remarks on AIADMK icons like Jayalalithaa, promises to “uproot” the ruling DMK, which Modi slammed as “corrupt and divisive.” “Stronger together, united towards Tamil Nadu’s progress! ” he wrote, vowing to honor the legacy of MGR and Jayalalithaa while steering the state to new heights alongside NDA allies. The DMK fired back, branding the tie-up a “betrayal” of Tamil Nadu’s spirit.

Modi’s enthusiasm signals a fierce electoral showdown, with the alliance banking on Tamil culture and development to sway voters in Chennai and beyond.

  1. UPI Outage Jolts Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay Users

Chaos broke out in India’s digital payments universe Saturday when a total Unified Payments Interface (UPI) breakdown paralyzed applications such as Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay, bringing daily transactions to a standstill. Outage monitor Downdetector attributed the maximum disruption at 11:30 a.m., as 76 percent of users were unable to process payments and 23 percent could not send money. Social media erupted in frustration as netizens vented over pending bills and suspended transfers, transforming routine swipes into a morning of chaos.

The glitch, striking at the very center of India’s cashless economy, left millions in disarray and highlighted the vulnerability of tech-financed finance when the system freezes.

  1. May 2025 Visa Bulletin Spells Trouble for Indian H-1B, Green Card Seekers

The U.S. Department of State’s May 2025 Visa Bulletin sent a bombshell to Indian professionals seeking H-1B and Green Card routes, revealing a bleak setback in the employment-based fifth preference (EB-5) category. India’s EB-5 Unreserved cutoff retrogressed more than six months to May 1, 2019, a setback that freezes green card aspirations for investors, in contrast to China’s consistent January 22, 2014, date. With the global cap for EB-5 holding at around 9,800 visas and India’s allocation of that bottlenecked by a 7 percent per-country limit, backlogs are ballooning, extending waiting times for investors who put their money into U.S. projects. EB-1 remains at February 2, 2022, for India and November 8, 2022, for China, while EB-2 remains at January 1, 2013, for India and October 1, 2020, for China.

EB-3 pushes ahead to April 15, 2013, for India but remains at November 1, 2020, for China. For the hopeful Indians, it’s an infuriating hiccup in the American dream chase.

  1. Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ Falters at Box Office Despite Hype Sunny Deol’s new film outing

Jaat, ran into a speed bump on its second day, scraping through ₹15 crore after a poor opening, despite positive reviews. Sacnilk.com pegged Friday’s haul at ₹7 crore, down from an opening ₹9.5 crore, totaling ₹16.5 crore with a modest 9.10 percent Hindi occupancy. Far from the Gadar 2 frenzy, the film’s slow grind has fans wondering if it’ll catch fire over the weekend.

At a recent event, Hema Malini bubbled with optimism, saying, “It’s opened huge, and people love it—Dharam ji’s thrilled, and so am I!

Esha Deol chimed the family’s optimism, but with numbers down, Jaat has a long way to go to reach Sunny’s previous blockbusters.

  1. Lilac Surprise of Janhvi Kapoor by Ananya Birla Ignites Frenzy

Mumbai streets buzzed on Friday, April 11, as a snazzy lilac Lamborghini pulled up outside Janhvi Kapoor’s house, followed by an enormous lilac gift box labeled “With love etc.”. Ananya Birla.” Star of Dhadak’s extravagant gift from her business friend left social media on fire, with citizens discussing whether it’s the car or the box or both—reports are tilting towards the latter. A viral video revealed three individuals carrying the humongous box into her flat, adding to the buzz. Some saucy users teased, “Shraddha Kapoor’s vibe copying!” adding to the buzz.

While that is happening, Ananya Birla’s business is preparing to introduce beauty and personal care lines—makeup, perfumes, and so on—through 2025, suggesting a branded flourish behind the gesture. For Janhvi, it’s a dazzling moment in the limelight.

  1. Rana’s Lawyer’s Last-Gasp Plea to Rubio Fails to Halt Extradition

As Tahawwur Rana, one of the prime 26/11 Mumbai attacks suspects, was confronted with extradition to India in February, his attorney John D Cline made a last-ditch effort to salvage him, sending a flurry of letters to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, mentioning ill health and torture concerns. Rubio’s office remained adamant, confirming the action complied with the UN Convention Against Torture, supported by 2023 and 2024 decisions by California’s district court and Ninth Circuit court denying Rana’s appeals.

On January 21, when the U.S.

Supreme Court quashed his last appeal, Cline asked Rubio to stop the transfer, citing Rana’s previous Chicago acquittal on Mumbai-related charges, his minimal involvement in David Headley’s conspiracy, Indian prison conditions, and his poor health. Rubio would not give, deciding Rana’s fate to stand trial in India.

  1. Murshidabad Reels as 110 Held in Waqf Act Protest Violence

West Bengal’s Murshidabad district seethed Saturday after police arrested more than 110 individuals associated with violent protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, which led to arson, stone-pelting, and road blockades in Malda, South 24 Parganas, and Hooghly. 70 were arrested in Suti and 41 in Samserganj in Murshidabad alone, with raids still being carried out, PTI added.

Officialdom imposed prohibitory orders and shut down internet services in the worst-affected districts, where anxiety persisted though there were no new outbreaks.

“Patrolling’s tight in Suti and Samserganj—no regrouping allowed,” said a police officer, appealing for peace and cautioning against rumour-mongering on social media. The encounter, stemming from the restiveness of a Muslim-dominated area, marks a contentious discussion on the implications of the Act.

  1. Jaish Commander Among Three Pakistani Terrorists Killed

In J&K Three Pakistani terrorists, including Jaish-e-Mohammad commander Saifullah, were killed by security forces in Kishtwar’s snow-covered Naidgam forests on Friday, along with Farman and Basha, who both had a ₹5 lakh reward.

A top police official narrated how the operation, which was initiated on April 9, began by killing one terrorist at dawn, followed by eliminating the pair later on, involving commandos of elite Army Para units (2, 5, and 9), CRPF, and J&K Police’s SOG.

Helicopters searched the thick, snow-covered hills to pursue escapees, bringing in a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. Parallel anti-terror sweeps in Udhampur and Kishtwar aim to root out a suspected larger cell, marking a high-stakes win for forces in a volatile region.

  1. KKR Steamrolls CSK at Chepauk Despite Dhoni’s Captaincy Return

MS Dhoni’s comeback as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain didn’t spark the magic hoped for Friday, April 11, as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) crushed them by eight wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium. KKR’s Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bowl, a masterstroke as spinners and pacers such as Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora throttled CSK following Vijay Shankar’s premature departure, taking them to 103/9.undefinedKKR’s pursuit was a cakewalk—Sunil Narine set the innings ablaze, and Quinton de Kock’s three sixes settled the matter in spite of his dismissal by Anshul Kambhoj. KKR wrapped it up with nearly ten overs left, a clinical all-round show handing CSK a bruising loss at home, dimming Dhoni’s return glow.
