1. Rahul Gandhi Attacks PM Modi, RSS in U.S.: ‘People Have Stopped Fearing BJP After Lok Sabha Results’
The most audacious thing to say was by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the diaspora in Dallas, Texas, on Monday. The fear of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greatly reduced in the country after the recent Lok Sabha election results, said Rahul.
He reflected upon his first speech in Parliament after election to Abhayamudra, or a fearlessness sign, an abiding symbol across all religions of India. The BJP failed to comprehend or tolerate that idea of fearlessness, he added.
He further said the weakening fear of the BJP was visible the moment the election results were declared. “We saw a fundamental transformation in the minutes that came after the results – the fear of the BJP and the Prime Minister disappeared. It wasn’t a victory for Rahul Gandhi or Congress, but for the people of India embracing democracy,” said Gandhi.
Of course, Gandhi took to RSS: “While the parent organisation of the BJP looks at India as a single idea, my party believes in the plurality of ideas.” He further said, “The RSS believes in a singular idea of India, but we see India as a multiplicity of ideas. Everyone should have space to dream, whichever caste, language, religion, tradition, or history they belong to. This was the essence of our battle during the elections, and the people knew that the Prime Minister was indeed attacking the very foundation of our Constitution,” said Gandhi.
2. Kalindi Express Narrowly Escapes Major Accident After Hitting LPG Cylinder in UP’s Kanpur; FIR Filed
A major tragedy was averted late on Sunday night in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur as the Prayagraj-Bhiwani Kalindi Express rammed into an LPG cylinder which was intentionally placed on the tracks. Authorities have termed the incident an attempt to derail.
The speeding Kalindi Express was on its way towards its destination when it rammed into the cylinder near Shivrajpur in Kanpur. “This was a deliberate attempt to derail the train by placing the LPG cylinder on the tracks,” a senior police official said.
The locomotive pilot, upon noticing the object on the track, had applied emergency brakes. However, the train did strike the cylinder, but fortunately, it had become dislodged from the tracks and thus a catastrophic derailment was averted.
An FIR has been registered and two persons have been taken into custody for questioning. Six teams have been formed to pursue the case relentlessly, while Railway Protection Force is also investigating the case.
3. Rishabh Pant Opens Up on Ravi Shastri’s Influence: ‘He Gave Me the License to Express Myself’

Pant, who played his last Test against Bangladesh in December 2022 ahead of the accident, credited former head coach Ravi Shastri for giving him license to express himself on the cricket field. Under Shastri, Pant was given license to play his natural game and that has been the key behind his success.
Pant has already made a roaring comeback into white-ball cricket, playing an instrumental role in India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados. His return to Test cricket, where he had many match-winning performances-most notably the unbeaten 89 against Australia in the historic Gabba Test in 2021-is already being waited with bated breath by fans and cricket enthusiasts alike.

This decision is part of the wider plan by China to rejuvenate its economy by attracting foreign capital in key industries. The NDRC also said that the government is considering revising policies favoring more foreign investment in the service industry.
