PM Modi Inaugurates Vantara Wildlife Centre, Applauds Anant Ambani’s Conservation Efforts
Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Vantara animal rescue and rehabilitation centre at Jamnagar on Sunday, emphasizing its purpose in wildlife preservation. During his three-day stay in Gujarat, the Prime Minister praised Anant Ambani and his team for their “caring efforts” in creating a sanctuary that hosts more than 2,000 species and rehabilitates over 1.5 lakh rescued animals.
During his tour, PM Modi himself met with rehabilitated animals, seeing the centre’s state-of-the-art veterinary facilities firsthand, including MRI and CT scans, intensive care units, and specialized departments like cardiology and dentistry. He watched as an Asiatic lion had an MRI and a leopard received life-saving surgery.
The Prime Minister also interacted with Asiatic and White Lion cubs, feeding them playfully and even high-fiving one of the lions. Vantara is an endangered species sanctuary that houses Clouded Leopard cubs and Caracals, the latter of which are on a conservation breeding program for reintroduction into the wild.
Playback Singer Kalpana Raghavendar Attempts Suicide, Rushed to Hospital
Well-known playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar was admitted to a hospital on Tuesday (March 4) after attempting an alleged suicide at her Hyderabad residence. She allegedly took a heavy dose of sleeping pills and was discovered unconscious by the security guard at her apartment complex.
When after two days, she did not respond, alarmed neighbors called authorities, who forcibly entered her home and took her to a local hospital. According to doctors, she is stable but on ventilator support.
The reason for her extreme measure is still not known, and her husband, who happened to be in Chennai when the incident took place, has hurried to her side. Friends and fans have been sending waves of support messages on the internet, wishing her all-speedy recovery.
Kannada Actress Ranya Rao Arrested for Gold Smuggling at Bengaluru Airport
Kannada actress Ranya Rao was detained at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Monday evening (March 3) for allegedly smuggling gold. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) detected 14.8 kg of gold from her on arrival from Dubai.
Ranya had been under surveillance by the authorities for her constant foreign travel. According to reports, she tried to smuggle gold by concealing it on her body and hiding gold bars inside her clothes.
Her arrest has attracted controversy since she is the daughter of a top Karnataka IPS official. Investigators are now investigating whether police officers inadvertently or intentionally cooperated with her operations. Sources indicate that Ranya would exploit her father’s rank to obtain police escorts upon arrival.
Nothing Phone (3a) Series Released in India, Prices Begin at ₹22,999
Nothing has launched its Phone 3a series in India officially, releasing two models: the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. The phones, which run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, come with new design features, such as a bigger camera module for the Pro model.
The Phone (3a) will go on sale from March 11 through Flipkart, Vijay Sales, Croma, and other retail outlets, while the Phone (3a) Pro will be sold exclusively through Flipkart until March 15.

In contrast to the conventional private universities, The University of WathHarbor will not be owned by any individual but will be a community institution. The project leaders have asked for 25 acres of land from the J&K government on a 99-year lease, just like in states of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
With thousands of students leaving J&K every year for higher education, this initiative aims to provide world-class education within the region and reduce academic migration.
