1. Laapataa Ladies at Oscars 2025: Sparsh Shrivastava of Actor Celebrates a Mix-up Mistake.

Actor Sparsh Shrivastava, fresh from the success of the critically acclaimed film Laapataa Ladies, which has gone on to become India’s official entry to the Oscars 2025, basks in the joy and excitement that this announcement has brought. Talking candidly with him, he said he never thought that the film would see such great heights.

Never imagined that one would be going to the Oscars. It happened all of a sudden, Shrivastava shared, describing how he first came to know about it during a meeting. “My casting director, Romil, called me and told me the news. I had never imagined that the film would become this huge.”

At 25 years old, Shrivastava is in his hometown Agra, where he said that the emotional response is just overwhelming. “Meri family kafi emotional hai. Mithaiya khayi jaa rahi hai. Unki aankhon mein aansu hai,” he added, high lighting how much this moment has a deep meaning to his family.

3. Delhi’s Air Quality Improves After a Day of Poor Air.

Delhi’s air quality improved significantly on Thursday after a day of deteriorating conditions that pushed the city’s Air Quality Index into the “poor” category for the first time in nearly three months. Official reports said that a 24-hour average AQI of 121 (moderate) was recorded at 9 a.m. on Thursday-some 116 units better than the 235 (poor) recorded at 4 p.m. the previous day.

Brilliant weather conditions over the city, largely thanks to strong winds and scattered light rain has led to significant improvements in air quality. Meteorologists say that for at least the next couple of days, the air will remain in the “moderate” category. Strong gusty winds are expected to prevail during the next 24 hours at 20-30 km/h, which would further clean out the pollution and bring the air quality back on track.

4. Yuvraj Singh Reflects on the 2007/08 Tour of Australia and Personal Life While Cricket Tensions Continue.

Some schools in the central areas of the city have declared a holiday on Thursday to clear the way for a visit by PM Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister will address a Sabha at S P College Ground on Tilak Road. A road blockade has already been done through various parts of the city in anticipation of the visit.

Pune district collector Suhas Diwase has requested a report from police regarding the fallout on schools; based on this report, it was decided to close several schools in the area for the day or both Thursday and Friday. The police in Pune have also started barricading Tilak Road and other main routes before the visit.

Security arrangements are being made in the city due to PM’s visit. Including grounds of New English School, Garware College and Katariya Secondary School, whose ground is taken over for security reasons. The visit has triggered very much increased security, causing severe disconnections in the city.

Murati, an OpenAI chief technology officer announced her resignation from the company claiming personal reasons that drive her forward to make a venturing further into her career. Elon Musk’s SpaceX has pitched $15 billion investment in Vietnam as part of its expansive plans to roll the Starlink satellite service across the world. The investment was discussed during a meeting between SpaceX Senior Vice President Tim Hughes and the country’s Communist Party General Secretary, To Lam, according to Vietnam’s government.

8. Body of Kerala Lorry Driver Found After 70 Days of Search in Karnataka Landslide

More than 70 days after search operations began, the body of Kerala lorry driver Arjun has been recovered. He went missing after a landslide in Karnataka’s Shrirur region. The tragic incident occurred way back in July when a huge hill collapsed and several vehicles were buried under its debris.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah came forward to express his grief over the tragic death of the Arjun driver and even acknowledged the efforts put in by the rescue team to trace the missing one.

Siddaramaiah expressed his feelings over the incident in an X post stating that the search operation was challenging as there were incessant rains and mudslides.

9. India Asks Citizens to Leave Lebanon as Israel-Hezbollah Conflict Worsens

The new reports conclude that the Indian government has issued a notice to leave Lebanon in view of the increased conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The political situation is turning hot with Israel’s bombardment of Hezbollah positions in Lebanon still continuing and killing over 620 people.

The Indian embassy in Beirut has told all Indian nationals to avoid visiting Lebanon and for those in the country to leave at once. The advisory comes after reports that Israel is readied to begin a ground invasion as concerns for foreign nationals rise.

10. Zomato Agent Walks Through Mumbai’s Torrential Rains to Deliver Orders

In a display of dedication that can only be described as heartwarming, a Zomato delivery agent named Rahat Ali Khan braved rainwater showering down in Mumbai, going on foot to deliver food orders since his bike had broken down. This was on Wednesday, amid heavy rainfall, which flooded the city with waterlogging and traffic congestions all over.

However, that did not stop Khan from completing his deliveries on foot. That is what earned appreciation from Zomato customer Swati Mittal, who expressed her gratitude on social media. “We must really appreciate the delivery staff who are out there in heavy rains and making our lives convenient,” Mittal wrote on Threads about efforts of workers going beyond the call to serve customers during bad weather.
