1. French supermarket worker pleads guilty to raping Gisele Pelicot while she was doped by husband for decade
A 44-year-old French supermarket worker, Lionel R., pleaded guilty yesterday to having raped his neighbor and friend, Gisele Pelicot, when she was doped by her husband, Dominique Pelicot, for a decade. Of the 50 men accused of sexually assaulting Gisele Pelicot, it is said that this case has shocked France.
In court, Lionel testified that even though he never meant to rape Gisele on December 2, 2018, it was clear that something was not right in the encounter. He admitted that since he did not have Gisele’s consent, the act was rape. His testimony is part of a much more enormous case that has shocked the nation, with Gisele’s husband admitting to drugging her and allowing the rape of strangers while she was unconscious.
During the trial, Lionel confessed, telling Gisele he was asking her forgiveness. “I never meant to hurt you and I did,” he said in court, while asserting that, anyhow, it would be “too late” for apologia. Gisele, aged 71, listened silent during the statement.

The letter, going viral on social networks, accused EY of driving its employees to physical exhaustion by working them to bone.
