GATE 2025 Results to be Declared Prior to 7 PM, IIT Roorkee Confirms
The eagerly anticipated GATE 2025 results will be formally announced today, March 19, 2025, by IIT Roorkee. The applicants who sat for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) may view their marks on gate2025.iitr.ac.in as soon as the results are active.
Though IIT Roorkee has confirmed the date, the exact result announcement time has not been specified. However, sources indicate that the results are expected before 7 PM IST.
Students will require their enrollment ID or email and a password to access and check their scores. Official scorecards will be available for downloading between March 28, 2025, and May 31, 2025. The result document will also contain information like qualification status, subject-wise cut-off marks, and candidate scores.
PM Modi Welcomes Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore Back to Earth
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a warm welcome to NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who landed back on Earth after more than nine months in space.

The two astronauts touched down safely after a historic flight, another breakthrough in the history of space travel and global collaboration.
Amazon to Cut 14,000 Corporate Staff in AI-Focused Restructuring
Amazon Inc. has unveiled plans to reduce 14,000 corporate roles as part of a company-wide restructuring for cost-cutting and AI-led automation. The reduction will be carried out by early 2025 and is anticipated to save the e-commerce major between ₹210 crore and ₹360 crore a year.
The reduction in workforce will reduce Amazon’s managerial employee base to 91,936 from the existing 1,05,770. The firm had earlier instructed managers to add more direct reports, hire fewer high-level employees, and maximize payroll expenses.
Also, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has suspended new managerial hiring, reflecting a major change in organizational structure and leadership chain.
Google Buys Cybersecurity Company Wiz for Record $32 Billion
In its biggest-ever acquisition, Google LLC has closed a $32 billion deal to buy New York-based cybersecurity company Wiz Inc. The acquisition will bring Wiz’s cloud security capabilities to Google Cloud, enhancing the firm’s cybersecurity system.
Google’s parent firm, Alphabet Inc., had its shares increase 0.07% in pre-market trading after the announcement.
Google highlighted that AI-powered cybersecurity and multi-cloud security offerings will be a priority area after the acquisition. Wiz’s solutions will continue to be compatible with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud for cross-platform support.
Nagpur Violence Over Aurangzeb Protests Results in Curfew Being Imposed
Tensions reached a boiling point in Nagpur as demonstrations seeking the demolition of Aurangzeb’s mausoleum turned violent. The agitation necessitated a citywide curfew for the second day running, covering 10 police station areas.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had organized protests at government offices on Monday, presenting memorandums for the destruction of Aurangzeb’s tomb in Khuldabad. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis blamed the anger among the people for the release of the movie “Chhaava”, which shows Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s murder by Aurangzeb.
