Mukesh Khanna to Revive Iconic Superhero ‘Shaktimaan’
Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, who epitomized the quintessential hero in the childhood memories of many Indians with Shaktimaan, has promised that India’s original superhero will make a comeback on television screens. He shares his deep association with the character in an interview recently, saying, “Shaktimaan is not just a costume; he is a part of me. When I am shooting, I forget there is a camera because the role feels so personal to me.”.
Mukesh Khanna played the character since its debut in 1997 and felt that he has a responsibility to bring Shaktimaan back. “The show needs to come back for today’s generation who are burdened by fast-moving digital zones. They need a superhero who can guide them,” Khanna said. Recently, he published a teaser poster on Instagram and gave fans a glimpse of this superhero’s comeback. The original series, which ran till 2005, remains a nostalgic favorite among millions of Indian viewers.
