1. Pass Away of Ratan Tata: PM Modi Condolences, Amit Shah to Attend Funeral
India woke up to the tragic news of the demise of industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata who passed away at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Ratan Tata was 86 when he finally ran out of breath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled his demise, writing to Noel Tata, the brother of Tata, to express his deep sorrow. The Prime Minister honored him, terming Ratan Tata as a “visionary leader” and a “compassionate soul.”
Some of his experiences in the relationship he had with Tata, whom he met during both his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat and later as Prime Minister, were shared. For instance, he recalled some of the contributions that Tata made to India’s economic and social landscape, stating: “Ratan Tata’s passion for dreaming big and giving back will always be remembered.”
Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the funeral of Tata. It is going to be an important event and will be attended by many heads of businesses, politics, and society.
2. Meet Leah, Maya, and Neville: The Future of Successors to Ratan Tata’s Legacy
The present challenge before the family members, especially his nephew and nieces Leah, Maya, and Neville Tata, is to carry on the monumental legacy left behind by Ratan Tata after his death. Since Ratan Tata did not have any direct heirs, Noel Tata’s children will step into the shoes of their uncle in leadership positions within Tata Group.
The elder of the two sisters, Leah Tata, is an already established leader in Tata’s hospitality arm, Indian Hotels Company Limited. Similarly, her sister Maya shouldered considerable responsibility within Tata Digital and has contributed significantly to the development of the Tata Neu app. Neville may not be so popular in the public eye, but he is equally poised to take the reins and drive Ratan Tata’s vision forward for the group.
The trio is on course to play a pivotal role in influencing the future of one of India’s most iconic conglomerates.
3. Ratan Tata: The Man Behind the Nano, India’s Iconic ₹1 Lakh Car
Ratan Tata will always be remembered for his monumental contributions to Indian industry, but one project closest to his heart was the Tata Nano, the “people’s car” that promised to make car ownership possible for millions of Indians. This car had faced immense challenges in the market, and yet Tata had remained extremely proud of the project and intent behind it.
In 2020, Tata recalled that he was inspired by the idea of giving a low-cost alternative to Nano when he saw families riding together on motorcycles in the rain. “By the time we launched the Nano, costs had gone up, but I had made a promise and delivered on that promise,” Tata said. He never lost his faith in the vision behind the Nano, though it wasn’t a huge success.
The belief that Tata had when he thought that, with the right projects, he could provide the masses with an affordable mode of transport gives one a glimpse into his visionary leadership spirit and how he wanted to do good for the masses.
4. Ratan Tata’s Compassion Left a Lasting Impression on King Charles III
I remember a very poignant anecdote wherein businessman Suhel Seth narrated how Ratan Tata once left King Charles III in awe of his compassion for animals. He was to receive Lifetime Achievement award from King Charles way back 2018 but canceled his trip to attend to his ailing sick dog at the last minute.
King Charles, it is said, praised Tata on his receiving word of the latter’s decision, remarking: “That’s the man Ratan is.” Tata’s death reminded the world of its compassionate steward, and the world responded by mourning not merely for the man but for the beast too.
5. Silicon Valley Executive Credits Ratan Tata for His Success
Ratan Tata’s philanthropic work extended much beyond the country, touching millions of lives, like that of young students studying higher education abroad. One such person is Arnav Sahu, principal at Y Combinator, who recently shared how Tata’s scholarship programme changed his life for good.
Sahu, a Tata scholarship beneficiary to Cornell University, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that he would not have entered the US without Tata’s assistance. Not only was the tuition paid, but so were his flights, laptops, and rental to make Sahu another successful Silicon Valley professional.

Rinku Singh was the hero of the second T20I against Bangladesh, where he showed stellar form, carving his way to a half-century and assisting India win in commanding fashion. His blistering knock of 53 off 29 balls helped India post an imposing total of 221/9 in 20 overs. Speaking to reporters after the match, Rinku revealed that timely advice from no less than MS Dhoni himself helped his cause of remaining calm under pressure-when India was reeling at 41/3.
My admiration for red-ball cricket is very deep, but Dhoni bhai guided me to shape my mental approach towards T20 cricket, says Rinku. “Dhoni bhai told me to remain calm and assess the situation before reacting,” he added, citing the advice as helping him through the tricky middle overs.
India continued to emerge victorious, with Nitish Kumar Reddy’s knock of 74 runs off 34 balls, which earned him the Player of the Match, making the game a sure confidence boost for the team to seal the series with a 2-0 victory.
7. Beyonce and Jay Z to Keep Quiet Over Diddy’s Arrest
The arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs earlier this year on sex trafficking and racketeering charges sent shock waves through a rather restrained cinematic world. Diddy, once a doyen of music and entertainment, has now come into the center of an investigation that has opened questions regarding the participation of the leaders involved in that field.
There have been reports that the power couple Beyonce and Jay Z, who had been close to Diddy at one time in the past, instead chose not to say anything. According to a source quoted in In Touch Weekly, the couple opted to “keep quiet” and draw less attention to their previous associations with the disgraced rapper. While fans have sensed that Beyonce and Jay Z will speak out about this, it appears they are opting to pretend it is not happening right now.
The case of Diddy is yet another involving a rapper. However, what is so glaring is why Hollywood does not seem to care much about these scandals.

US Vice President Kamala Harris got herself into an embarrassment after she was caught on a hot mic during a briefing regarding Hurricane Milton. Harris, who seemed very disinterested during the briefing, was heard whispering to someone that the session was a “live broadcast.”
