BoAt’s Ad ‘Think Better’ Fueled a BoAt vs. Apple Showdown on Social Media
BoAt vs Apple:
In a recent showdown between BoAt and Apple, the electronics brand BoAt took a jab at Apple through a series of ads on X, stirring up a storm online. However, the response from netizens wasn’t as expected, leading to a wave of trolling against the brand.
An advertisement that poked fun at the well-established US-based brand hasn’t been well-received by internet users, sparking considerable attention online. BoAt, an electronics brand, recently targeted Apple in a series of ads. One of the videos featured the tagline “Don’t be a fanboy, be a boAthead.”
The caption of the post further emphasized this message: “No fruits were harmed in the making of this film. It’s time to give an Indian brand a chance to compete on the global level. Don’t be a fanboy, be a boAthead.”

Boat hit another round with a newspaper advertisement published in the Times of India, boAt encouraged customers to “Think Better” by showcasing an image of an apple alongside their latest Airdopes.
Fanboys will find this ad a little bitter. Well, it's time to switch to an Indian brand with better offerings. 🇮🇳

The boAt Ad went Viral and Netizens React
The boAt ad quickly stirred reactions when shared on social media, sparking a lively debate among users.
The advertisements quickly went viral, capturing the attention of many viewers. However, they didn’t receive a warm reception from social media users on X.
One user wrote, “Seems like they’re playing in the wrong league.” Another commented, “Honestly, not impressed. What’s up with that?”
A third user added some perspective, saying, “Respectfully, people choose boAt because it’s affordable and still offers good quality. It’s not just about the technology itself. Nonetheless, good effort from the team!”
Another user compared the situation, saying, “It’s like Oyo making fun of Taj hotels. People don’t choose Taj just for a comfortable bed and pillows. Similarly, the appeal of Apple products isn’t just about sound quality.”
Yet another user shared a humorous take, “I can imagine a boAt copywriter going home thinking they’ve hit Apple hard with ‘no fruits were harmed in making this ad’. And here we are, with trade portals calling it ‘shots fired!’. Despite this, I’m glad for boAt’s success and hope for more. These initiatives might resonate with their current and potential customers (who may not necessarily opt for Apple products). However, let’s not forget the allure of the Apple ecosystem – the seamless connectivity across iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple TV, and AirPods. Competitors can’t overlook that. Interestingly, the creative industry is filled with Apple enthusiasts.”
A person commented, “Nice effort, boAt, but you’ve got a long journey ahead before taking shots at Apple. Keep going, though. We’re cheering for you, just don’t make it awkward.”
I think it's a bad idea to criticize #boat's new ad just because they challenged 🍎
I think it's a bold move and shows they are willing or working towards becoming the best in that space. You need guts to do that. Plus the ad is super creative.

Another user shared their experience, saying, “I’m still using my Bassheads 900, and it’s been fantastic. Despite multiple slips and falls, it’s still going strong since I bought it in May 2021. Huge thanks to the team and Aman sir for creating such durable headphones.”
Confidence is good.
But boat comes nowhere close to even Samsung, forget Apple!

Boat asking people to ditch Apple and go for Boat earphones.
It’s like Oyo mocking Taj hotels. People aren’t booking Taj properties just for comfortable bed & pillows.
Similarly people aren’t paying 23000/- just for the sound quality 🙂 pic.twitter.com/VdW0BvFo6n

A brilliant advertisement strategy. By trolling this ad for it’s concept, lots of verified intellectuals shared and helped this ad to reach to maximum audience. #boat pic.twitter.com/61aENenzwx
