  1. Bengaluru Rains Leave School Buses Stranded; Parents Criticize Last-Minute School Closures

School buses parked at a flooded Sarjapur Road on Monday morning in Bengaluru. Students and parents, in the lurch, said much. The District Collector, without much ado, declared a holiday for Anganwadis and schools within the BBMP limits, citing “student safety”. Parents are bitter about the decision, calling it a “last-minute” close down.

The Collector declared that the school closures shall not impact degree courses, post-graduate programs, diplomas, and engineering institutes or ITI centers. In a bid to provide safety, the authorities have directed the college heads to avoid holding classes in buildings that are weakened or dilapidated. They have also sought them to conduct a quick check on safety with necessary precautions. To make up for time lost in learning, the extra classes will be taken on Saturdays afternoons or Sundays.

  1. Kichcha Sudeep’s Daughter lashes out at ‘inherent’ behavior during grandmom’s funeral

Actor Kichcha Sudeep’s daughter Sanvi Sudeep has mourned her grandmother, Saroja Sanjeev, whose passing was reported on Sunday. Posting what would be her earliest-ever photographs online-in a heavy attempt to hold back tears, Sanvi wrote: “love her always and forever.” Actually, the most disturbing aspect of the day Sanvi experienced was not the loss but the disrespected and intruding public at her grandmother’s funeral.

She condemned the outsiders gathered outside their house, pushing their way into the private moment of the family to capture content for social media reels. Sanvi further explained how the crowd had entered the funeral proceedings to make it impossible for the family to send off the loved one suitably. Her heartfelt post has made the world aware of the need for respect towards personal space, especially in the case of grief.

The local Kashmiri doctor and six labourers were also killed in the attack.

The Resistance Front (TRF) is reported to have owned the attack. Terrorists targeted the laborers and several personnel who were returning to their camp after working. Apart from laborers, a manager, engineer, and a designer, who are said to be employed with the construction company, were also injured in the attack. As the incident continues to gain momentum, security forces are on high alert, and there is an all-out endeavor to identify and apprehend the attackers. The five persons who are injured are undergoing treatment at SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar.

  1. Zeeshan Siddique: Baba Siddique’s Son Challenges Lawrence Bishnoi’s Gang

Zeeshan Siddique, the son of late NCP leader Baba Siddique, publicly challenged the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang after revealing he too was targeted by his father’s killers. Baba Siddique was shot dead earlier this month by three gunmen allegedly linked to Bishnoi.

In a defiant post on his social media platform X, Zeeshan vowed to continue his father’s fight for justice, claiming that he did not scare his father long ago. In one of the first comments on the post by an influential member of the ruling Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf party, the grandson vowed to “not give up”. Zeeshan said: “Long live my father, who is a lion and whose legacy lives in me.” Authorities have yet been able to establish the full motive behind Baba Siddique’s assassination but this post from Zeeshan has sparked public support people say they will stand firm in the face of such threats.

  1. Hezbollah Leader Naim Qassem Flees Lebanon Due to Assassination Warnings

A Lebanese minister said Monday that Hezbollah’s deputy secretary general, Naim Qassem, had left Lebanon and traveled to Iran under a threat of Israeli assassination. Qassem’s departure follows a heavy blitz by Israeli forces on Beirut’s southern suburbs, killing several high-ranking leaders in Hezbollah, including Hassan Nasrallah’s cousin, Hashem Safieddine.

Reports quoted Qassem as having left Beirut on October 5 and traveled by land to Damascus before boarding a flight out of the country under the auspices of Iranian authorities. Sources in Iran indicated that the move was to keep Qassem from some imminent threats. His leaving comes at a time when the tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue to increase and the threat posed to the leadership continues unabated.

Delhi Police are probing into the blast near CRPF school in Rohini after a viral message on Telegram attributed to group ‘Justice League India’ appeared online. The post carrying a video clip of the explosion-watermarked with “Khalistan Zindabad”-has raised a larger conspiracy of terrorism.

  1. Adar Poonawalla’s Serene Entertainment Acquires 50% of Dharma Productions

It is known that Adar Poonawalla’s company, Serene Entertainment, has acquired 50% of Dharma Productions. Owned solely by filmmaker Karan Johar, it is one of the landmark deals in the history of Bollywood. The total deal is worth ₹1000 crores, and it will see Johar retain the remaining 50% ownership and still being the head to run the production house.

Poonawalla’s joy can’t be hidden as he went on to appreciate Dharma Productions for its cultural significance and brilliant storytelling qualities. This, on the part of Johar also, ignited optimism on how such a connection would spread Dharma’s reach to global audiences but respect its original roots in storytelling. The marriage is looked at by most people as igniting more powerful and transcendent content in the future.

Leaving with the trophy, the winners took away a huge sum of $2.34 million prize money – the biggest so far in women’s cricket. Runners-up South Africa bagged $1.17 million, while the International Cricket Council declared an overall prize pool of $7.95 million.
