Actor Suhani Bhatnagar of “Dangal” passed away in Delhi at the age of 19. Her role as a young Babita Kumari in the Aamir Khan movie made her well-known. Her parents just disclosed the reason for her passing in a media interview.
Suhani Bhatnagar, known for her role as young Babita Kumari Phogat in Aamir Khan’s film ‘Dangal’, passed away on February 16 in Delhi. She was 19 years old. Her death has been confirmed by Aamir Khan’s production house. Suhani’s parents recently addressed the media, providing detailed insights into their daughter’s health journey.
According to Suhani’s father, approximately two months ago, the actor began experiencing swelling in her hands. Initially dismissed as a common issue, the swelling gradually extended to her other hand and eventually affected her entire body. Despite seeking medical advice from multiple doctors, the exact cause of her illness remained elusive. Around 11 days ago, Suhani was admitted to AIIMS, where diagnostic tests revealed that she was suffering from dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease. Unfortunately, the only available treatment for this condition involves the use of steroids, which ultimately impacted her immune system and weakened her overall immunity.
Suhani’s father shared that medical professionals indicated a prolonged recovery period for this disease. Unfortunately, due to her compromised immunity, Suhani acquired an infection during her hospital stay. The accumulation of fluid in her lungs led to breathing challenges, and tragically, on the evening of February 16, Suhani passed away.
Suhani’s mother beamed with pride as she spoke about her daughter. She recounted how Suhani had embarked on her modeling journey since childhood. Out of a staggering 25,000 children, Suhani was handpicked for the movie ‘Dangal.’ Her camera-friendly demeanor had been evident from an early age. Currently, she was pursuing a Mass Communication and Journalism course, already in her second year. Her aspirations included completing her studies and venturing into the world of films.
A poignant note from Aamir Khan’s production house conveyed the heartbreaking news: “We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani.” The note concluded with these words: “Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts. May you rest in peace.” 🌟🙏
