A series of six powerful earthquakes, including a 7.1 magnitude tremor that devastated Tibet on Tuesday, left 126 people dead and 188 injured. The strongest of the tremors caused widespread damage and building collapses in Tingri County near the Nepal-Tibet border.

The quakes were felt in neighboring Nepal, India, and Bhutan. Rescue efforts are in the process of retrieving survivors from under the debris; time is of the essence for emergency response teams. Strong aftershocks added to the chaos, forcing people to flee their homes.

Tingri County lies in a high-risk seismic zone where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates converge, making it prone to such destructive activity. In northern India, residents in Delhi, Bihar, and West Bengal reported strong tremors. Officials have urged calm while remaining vigilant for potential aftershocks.

  1. SNAP 2024 Results Released Today

Symbiosis International University has declared the SNAP 2024 results today, January 8, 2025. Candidates can now check their scorecards on the official website, snaptest.org, using their SNAP ID and password.

The results were announced at 1 PM as scheduled, and this has allowed candidates to assess their performance in the highly competitive Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. Next, they will have to select preferred Symbiosis colleges and appear for further rounds of admission.

Candidates are requested to download their scorecards immediately and look for updates on counseling sessions.

  1. OnePlus 13 Series Officially Launched with Advanced Features

OnePlus has unveiled its latest flagship devices: the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R, alongside the special edition of the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 and the OnePlus Watch 3. The launch event took place on January 7, 2025, and it really did bring some cutting-edge innovations from the company.

The OnePlus 13 comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a quad-curved display boasting 2K resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. On top of that, it has three cameras on the back—50MP each—and one 32MP camera on the front. Its more affordable peer, the OnePlus 13R, features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 1.5K OLED screen, and a telephoto lens. Both phones have been equipped with the largest batteries, up to 6,000 mAh in capacity and supporting 100W fast charging.

They come with Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 and up to five years of security updates. The OnePlus 13 will likely be priced between ₹65,000 and ₹70,000, while the OnePlus 13R will be priced below ₹50,000.

  1. Ajith Kumar Narrowly Escapes Car Crash During Dubai 24H Practice

Actor Ajith Kumar, who recently returned to professional racing, had a minor accident yesterday while he was practicing for the Dubai 24 hour endurance race. He lost control, and his race car crashed into a barrier. The actor escaped unscathed.

The incident happened at around 12:45 PM during the practice for the prestigious event. Security personnel were at the scene of the incident swiftly, and Ajith resumed practice in a replacement car. His team confirmed that although the original vehicle was severely damaged, the actor escaped unhurt.
