Narlikar is credited with significantly advancing India’s research capabilities in space and cosmology. Bollywood has been hit by a legal drama as Akshay Kumar reportedly filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Paresh Rawal for exiting Hera Pheri 3 midway through production. According to Hindustan Times, Kumar, who also owns the rights to the film via his production house Cape of Good Films, has taken legal action for breach of contract and unprofessional conduct.
While fans were eagerly awaiting the third installment of the iconic franchise, Paresh Rawal’s decision to walk out post-shoot schedule disrupted production and incurred losses. Rawal previously tweeted that his decision was not based on creative differences, and reiterated his respect for the director Priyadarshan. The matter has sparked intense debate online, especially since this is the first time Akshay has sued a fellow actor in his 35-year career.

In a rare move, General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s current Army Chief, has been elevated to the rank of Field Marshal, making him the first Pakistani military officer in over six decades to hold this position. The announcement came after a cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, citing Munir’s leadership during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, Pakistan’s counter to India’s Operation Sindoor.
This promotion is only the second in Pakistan’s history after Ayub Khan in 1959, and is likely to strengthen the military’s grip over the nation’s political and strategic affairs. The title was granted for his “high strategy and courageous leadership” in recent military operations.

During Microsoft’s annual Build 2025 conference, CEO Satya Nadella’s speech was interrupted by a company employee, Joe Lopez, who accused Microsoft of aiding Israeli military actions through its Azure cloud services.
Lopez, a firmware engineer at Microsoft for four years, was escorted from the venue after publicly accusing the company of enabling war crimes in Gaza. He later published an internal memo criticizing Microsoft’s lack of transparency in a third-party audit. The tech giant has acknowledged working with the Israel Ministry of Defence but denied that its technology was used for offensive purposes.
This incident adds to the increasing pressure on global tech firms to clarify ethical boundaries in their partnerships during ongoing international conflicts.

Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar Market saw chaos and anger over the weekend as the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) carried out a midnight anti-encroachment drive, razing awnings, signages, and extensions on nearly 150 shops.
Traders alleged no prior notice was served and called the timing of the operation “sneaky” and “anti-business.” NDMC, on the other hand, stated the operation was part of a city-wide campaign to reclaim public spaces and improve accessibility in crowded marketplaces. Tensions continue between local business owners and municipal authorities as legal proceedings are expected.

In a rare policy shift, Israel has begun allowing limited humanitarian aid—including food and medicine—into Gaza, after a blockade lasting more than 2.5 months. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly made the decision under pressure from allies like the UK, France, and Canada, who expressed concern over worsening famine-like conditions.
According to the U.N., only a few dozen trucks have entered so far, a fraction of the 600 trucks that crossed daily during previous ceasefires. Aid organizations have warned of mass starvation if the blockade isn’t fully lifted and distribution isn’t streamlined. Over 1 million Palestinians are facing critical food insecurity, making this aid trickle both too late and too little, experts say.

Following Operation Sindoor, Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan D’Cunha, head of Army Air Defence, boldly asserted that India’s military has the capability to strike targets deep inside Pakistan. In an interview with ANI, he said shifting Pakistani military headquarters to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or elsewhere would offer no advantage, as all such facilities remain within India’s operational range.
He also revealed that the Indian Army received full cooperation from Golden Temple authorities in Amritsar to thwart drone threats, adding that such coordination is crucial in protecting national symbols during heightened tensions.

In a major scheduling change, the IPL 2025 final has been relocated from Eden Gardens, Kolkata to Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be hosted at Mullanpur’s Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, and Qualifier 2 will also be played in Ahmedabad.
The BCCI cited weather patterns and logistical factors as the primary reasons for the venue change. The playoffs were rescheduled after the tournament was paused due to the India-Pakistan conflict earlier this month. The final is now set for June 3, 2025 with extra time added to remaining league matches to accommodate any delays.
