A leopard that has claimed eight lives in 12 days in the Indian city of Udaipur has officially been declared a “man-eater”. The declaration was made by Rajasthan’s Chief Wildlife Warden PK Upadhyay after a 55-year-old woman and a 65-year-old priest were found dead within 24 hours. The two victims, Kamla Kunwar and Vishnu Giri, were attacked in separate incidents while going to their villages under Gogunda. Forest department personnel have redoubled efforts and set up traps while capturing four leopards during the continuing hunt for the killer. The community is on high alert, with wildlife officers working day and night to prevent further calamities.
Andreas Roettl is CEO of tech firm Journi and lately posted on LinkedIn that firing off employees is as important as hiring them. The firings of inefficient workers, he says, maintain a “happy and strong” team. Conceding in the post that firings are uncomfortable times, he said a skill must be developed by managers to craft a healthy work environment.
His corporation teaches managers the art of dismissing through a formal program so that he may even simulate a firing. Roettl explained that dismissal is not impulsive; it is more like giving a “yellow card” in soccer, such that an opportunity is given to employees to improve before losing it. His position, however, has elicited mixed views with praise from some as being transparent but criticized by others for the morality involved.
The Pentagon is increasing the military bases’ defense capabilities, especially in the Middle East, over the increased threat from Iran-linked groups. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin introduced an expansion of the Replicator program as threats from drone warfare are growing, described as the potential attacks by China through drones.
The new stage will include the deployment of the defense drones at both the domestic and international military facilities for the U.S. The move comes after several attacks on military bases in the Middle East, particularly last week’s incident in Deir Ezzor, Syria. Pentagon shifts to totally embrace the new warfare techniques for drone.
Outpace Rivals Larry Summers of Harvard University and former U.S. Treasury Secretary has predicted that India is likely to outpace every other economy as the fastest growing in the world in the coming years. According to an interview given by Summers to Times of India, said job creation in the services and construction areas is the key driver for this growth, besides the country’s consumption pattern becoming more sustainable than China, which has overtaken its economies with heavy investment in infrastructure.
According to Summers, the Chinese economic model, where consumption is supressed and infrastructure has led to overinvestment, has diminishing returns; diversity in India’s approach might earn it an edge in the long term.
There has finally been a reaction from the actor, Triptii Dimri, to the backlash that some of her dance moves received in the song, “Mere Mehboob.” The item, choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, features Dimri dancing a pelvic thrust, which has been called “cringe-worthy” and “embarrassing” by social media users.
In one interview, Dimri had defended her performance by claiming that she didn’t expect the negative reaction but still felt it was necessary to experiment as an actor. “I may not be great at everything,” she said. “What’s wrong with trying?” Dimri also emphasized the need for versatility in actors who should be able to go out of their comfort zones and take on new challenges.

Indeed, said royal expert Cameron Walker, there’s been “a detectable change” in the Prince Harry camp, which may be suggesting the Duke of Sussex is dallying and testing the waters to return to the British fold. Walker says that Harry did not at any point discuss any family matters during recent appearances and media engagements, not how he was vocal in interviews and his book Spare.
The challenge that lay in the way of any rapprochement between them was the tension between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William. While there are some indications that Harry might seek to bury the hatchet, trust issues remain at the top of the agenda, especially after bombshell revelations in the recent past.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud issued a stern warning to lawyers on Tuesday, expressing frustration with advocates who repeatedly bring the same cases before the bench in an attempt to secure a favorable order. “This case has been mentioned yesterday,” CJI Chandrachud said, turning down a lawyer’s plea to raise a matter about a mining lease before the bench.
Whatever little discretion I have as the CJI will never be exercised in your favour, the learned judge observed, while underlining the importance of discouraging such practices. His words reflect an overall concern for judicial system efficiency and ethical obligations that lawyers have.
Actor Kashmera Shah was seen Tuesday visiting her uncle, actor Govinda, at CritCare Hospital in Mumbai after he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Govinda was rushed to the hospital for treatment following the mishap, and Shah quickly made her way to his side, putting aside their personal differences.
The controversy over the issue has been quite a sensational piece of news as family feuds between Shah and Govinda were well known, but the visit paid by Shah means that it is family first in hard times, despite all differences.
Ranveer Singh is one of the actors who claimed to want a role in the film adaptation of hit television series Shaktimaan. The original actor for the series, Mukesh Khanna, has officially rejected him. Mukesh Khanna, speaking recently, declared that Ranveer tried to convince him for nearly three hours that he was the right man for the job.
Khanna isn’t known for his diplomatic views, though. The candid overview of the person appears to state that even with the amount of energy and acting talent Ranveer has shown, he doesn’t see the actor suitable for the character. Social media has largely supported Khanna by having numerous fans urge him not to approve of Ranveer’s casting. The future of this adaptation of Shaktimaan remains precarious as people debate the casting choice.
