A land dispute led to a tragic incident on Wednesday in Nawada district of Bihar wherein over 20 homes of the Dalits were set on fire. The homes were torched at Manjhi Tola within the Mufassil police station area. No injuries have so far been reported. The case has been registered and 15 people have been arrested; the remaining culprits are still to be nabbed and are being searched for.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the matter by sending the additional director general of police (ADG) law and order to inspect the area. A huge police force had been put in the area for maintaining peace and further escalation.
The Nawada district magistrate, Ashutosh Kumar Verma confirmed relief materials to the affected such as food packets and drinking water. Temporary shelters were also set up for the victims.

Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur on Wednesday announced that teachers and officers deputed to other states would be brought back soon.
