The Blood Moon total lunar eclipse on September 7–8, 2025, is a rare and spectacular event, offering 82 minutes of totality and remarkable global visibility. Major cities across Asia, Africa, Australia, and Europe will witness this striking red moon, with India ranking among the top locations for viewing.
Longest Total Eclipse: This is one of the longest total lunar eclipses of the decade, with the total phase (Blood Moon) lasting 82 minutes.
Wide Global Visibility: About 85% of the world’s population—including Asia, Africa, Europe, and Australia—can view it, making it truly global.
Deep Red Color: The moon will turn a dramatic red or copper color due to Rayleigh scattering, where Earth’s atmosphere bends sunlight, filtering only red wavelengths to the lunar surface.
Convenient Viewing Times: The eclipse occurs at night with the moon high above the horizon in many key cities, particularly across India and Asia.
No Equipment Needed: This eclipse does not require any telescopes or protective gear; it’s safe to watch with the naked eye and easily visible from open spaces.

The government has extended the ITR filing deadline for Assessment Year 2025-26 to September 15, 2025, but as of now, only 4.56 crore returns have been filed.
The original deadline was July 31, 2025, but due to significant changes in ITR forms and delays in system updates, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) extended the due date to September 15, 2025.
As of September 4, 2025, just 4.56 crore taxpayers have filed their ITRs, which is lower compared to the number of filings usually seen with the earlier deadline.
The extension is meant to help taxpayers with the new forms and address technical challenges on the ITR portal.
Taxpayers who miss the extended deadline can still file a belated return until December 31, 2025, but with late fees and interest.
This extension gives more time for individuals, HUFs, and non-audit entities to comply with income tax filing, but the current filing numbers suggest many are still to file their returns.

The film faces tough competition and needs a strong weekend to boost its overall earnings.
