Ultraviolette, an Indian electric vehicle (EV) producer with headquarters in Bengaluru, has declared it is entering the mass-market market with the roll-out of price-reduced electric motorcycles and scooters in India.
The firm has launched the Tesseract, an electric scooter at ₹1.20 lakh, and the Shockwave, an electric enduro motorcycle at ₹1.50 lakh for the initial 1,000 buyers. These launches signal a change in Ultraviolette’s strategy from premium offerings such as the F77 to volume-based models.
The firm has also announced its three-year roadmap with four different series of products: S series (city electric scooters), L series (performance commuter bikes), X series, and B series (to include power cruisers).
Though Ultraviolette has established itself as a premium EV brand, moving to the mass market will enable it to compete with other mass-market electric two-wheeler manufacturers. The firm is likely to launch more powerful versions of the Tesseract and Shockwave in 2026, potentially at a premium price.
Apple has formally released its new MacBook Air based on the M4 chip, with notable performance improvements, AI capabilities, and extended battery life. The new series comes in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, with up to 18 hours of battery life, one of the most efficient MacBook Air models yet. Apple has also unveiled a 12MP Center Stage camera, improved external display support, and macOS Sequoia, which brings a number of new AI-based features.
At the center of this new MacBook Air is the M4 chip, a 10-core CPU, an up to 10-core GPU, and support for up to 32GB of unified memory. According to Apple, the new model is twice as fast as the original M1 MacBook Air, offering a significant boost in performance. The device has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for enhanced connectivity, and the audio configuration is equipped with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos through a sophisticated three-microphone array.
One of the key highlights of the new MacBook Air is Apple Intelligence, which introduces AI-driven features to many processes. The Neural Engine in the M4 chip is reported to be three times faster than the previous one, greatly enhancing machine-learning operations like automatic photo editing, real-time video noise cancellation, and predictive text input. Apple has also added ChatGPT to Siri and Writing Tools so that users can use AI-driven help without the need for an OpenAI account. The firm assures users that privacy is of utmost importance, indicating that ChatGPT requests are not retained and IP addresses are kept safe.
Aside from AI capabilities, Apple’s new macOS Sequoia also comes with iPhone Mirroring, allowing people to remotely interact with their iPhone, open apps, and view notifications on their MacBook. MacBook Air also has enhanced gaming performance, featuring Personalized Spatial Audio, an updated Game Mode, and a growing collection of optimized games such as Civilization VII and Wuthering Waves.
Design enhancements feature the addition of a completely new Sky Blue hue to join Midnight, Starlight, and Silver, while Apple has also made it a point that every model includes a color-matched MagSafe charging cable to complement its seamless design.
These upgrades make the new MacBook Air a new benchmark for powerful yet lightweight laptops. Whether used by students, professionals, or creatives, Apple’s new release puts performance, AI power, and ultra-portability together, making it a strong contender in the premium laptop market.
Legendary director Anurag Kashyap has officially revealed that he has shifted base from Mumbai to South India, complaining of the rising toxicity in Bollywood.
Speaking in an interview to The Hindu, Kashyap said that he wished to break away from the film industry, which he felt had become extremely commercialized and profit-oriented.
“Nobody is interested in making ₹500-800 crore films anymore. The creative ecosystem is lost. I wish to work in an ecosystem that puts stories ahead of financial goals,” Kashyap stated.
The filmmaker has in the past spoken very positively about South Indian cinema and how it embraced risk-taking, besides having lot of creative liberty. Kashyap is right now marketing Footage, which is a Malayalam film, which he is distributing. Hindi-dubbed version of this movie will come out on 7th of March, 2025.
Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old who is charged with killing UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, has had a tremendous financial outpouring for his defense, with more than $647,000 donated.
Mangione, charged with federal and state offenses on allegations that he shot Thompson to death outside a Manhattan hotel, has entered not-guilty pleas. Supporters have denied rumors circulating recently that he had an obsession with shooting explicit material as a “smear campaign.”
A few small donors said they cared more about “professional integrity and a fair trial” than unproven allegations, contributing to his defense fund. The New York Post reported RadarOnline had published claims that Mangione had an “obsession” with recording intimate encounters. Mangione’s trial is set to start later this year, with his defense team ready to challenge the allegations against him.
NASA astronaut Sunita Williams has emphatically rejected SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s recent suggestion to retire the International Space Station (ISS) before its scheduled retirement in 2030.
Speaking at a news conference before returning to Earth after a nine-month stay on board, Williams said, “The ISS is in its prime. There is still so much valuable research being conducted here.”
Williams and fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore will stay on board the ISS until next week when their replacements arrive. Musk had previously suggested that money should be redirected to working on next-generation space stations instead of keeping the ISS going.
Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal has launched a new requirement that asks all staff to submit weekly updates of their work done. The move, called “Kya Chai Raha Hai?” (“What’s going on?”), seeks to enhance transparency and accountability at the company.
Staff are asked to send short reports of their achievements on a weekly basis, with the first deadline being Sunday.
The announcement is made in the backdrop of significant internal reorganization at Ola, with recent layoffs hitting close to 1,000 employees across different departments.
India will play New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy final after the Kiwis beat South Africa by 50 runs in the semi-final.
In spite of a late raid by David Miller, who registered an incredible unbeaten 100 from 67 deliveries, South Africa were left short of the 363 posted by New Zealand. Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson made crucial contributions to New Zealand’s cause with Ravindra posting his fifth ODI ton.
The deciding game will be hosted in Dubai on Sunday as India look to clinch yet another ICC trophy.
David Miller has been left fuming after South Africa’s semi-final loss to New Zealand.
South Africa had to travel from Dubai and back within 24 hours as a result of political restrictions against India playing in Pakistan.
“It’s just not perfect,” Miller said. “We flew straight after a game, arrived in Dubai, and came back in the morning without even playing. It’s not an excuse, but it wasn’t a simple situation.”
Miller, who played a great century in a losing effort, forecasted that the India-New Zealand final would be a fantastic contest.
Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca has been banned for nine months by the French Professional Football League (FLP) after a clash with referee Benoit Millot.
Fonseca was sent off during Lyon’s 2-1 victory over Brest after he forcefully approached the referee over a contentious penalty call. His tirade involved a physical approach, and that prompted swift disciplinary action.
The FLP judgment suspends Fonseca from the bench, officials’ dressing rooms, and any match-related activities until November 30.
The Portuguese coach later issued an apology, saying, “I let my emotions get the best of me. I regret my actions.”
Former Australian cricketer Jason Gillespie has come out in the open criticizing Pakistan’s interim coach Aaqib Javed for allegedly undermining his stint.
Javed had talked about the instability in Pakistan cricket just recently, citing regular captaincy, coaching, and selection changes. Gillespie reacted by accusing Javed of openly scheming to replace him.
“Aaqib was obviously working behind the scenes to become coach. He is a clown,” Gillespie said.
The drama contributes to the continuing unrest in Pakistan cricket, which has had several leadership changes in the last year.
