Madhya Pradesh Students Celebrate as RSKMP Declares Class 5 and 8 Results

Joy swept across Madhya Pradesh on March 28 when the Rajya Shiksha Kendra Madhya Pradesh (RSKMP) declared much-awaited Class 5 and Class 8 exam results for the school year 2024-25. Those who had appeared for the exams can now check their scores on the official website at rskmp.in/result.aspx, by logging in using roll number or overall ID. Those who prefer a technology-based option also have the facility of downloading results through a QR code. It must be mentioned that the mark sheets are usually temporary, with official hard copies—subject-wise marks and pass percentages—to be published through schools in due course. Students must visit the RSKMP website, locate the result section, select their class, enter their credentials, and download their scorecard to see their results. The achievement of this year turned into pride for Indore division and Narsinghpur district, whose Class 8 students headed the list, and Shahdol division and Dindori district emerged at the top for the Class 5 toppers. The Class 5 pass rate was an impressive 92.70 percent, up 2 percent from last year’s 90.97 percent, and Class 8’s pass rate was 90.02 percent, up 3 percent from 87.71 percent in 2024, a testament to the hard work of teachers and students alike.

  1. Myanmar Shaken by Twin Earthquakes, Tremors Registered Throughout Southeast
Myanmar Shaken by Twin Earthquakes, Tremors Registered Throughout Southeast

Asia Myanmar suffered a terrifying morning on March 28 as two strong earthquakes struck in quick succession, jolting the whole area. The initial tremor was measured at 7.7 magnitude by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, with the epicenter only 17.2 kilometers from Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-biggest city with a population of 1.5 million. Hardly 12 minutes later, at 12:02 p.m., an aftershock of 6.4 on the Richter scale hit the area, with its epicentre 18 kilometers south of Sagaing. The earthquake rattled far beyond the borders of Myanmar, making Bangkok, Thailand, and parts of Vietnam shake. Social media news from Mandalay indicated a tragic scene—toppled buildings and rubble-filled roads in the old city, a cultural hub of Myanmar’s Buddhist heritage. Eyewitnesses in Bangkok described scenes of chaos as buildings shook violently, water sprayed out of swimming pools, and a half-built building toppled. Residents rushed out into the streets, their lives feared for. The Chinese government issued a tsunami warning, state broadcaster CCTV reported, stoking fears of worse disaster. The earthquakes demonstrate the vulnerability of the region to earthquakes, populations living in fear, awaiting possible aftershocks.

  1. Studio Ghibli Legend Miyazaki Hayao Slams AI Art as an ‘Insult to Life’
Studio Ghibli Legend Miyazaki Hayao Slams AI Art as an ‘Insult to Life’

The Internet is abuzz with a new fad—ChatGPT’s latest update transforms images into childish, watercolor-like anime landscapes in a Ghibli-inspired aesthetic reminiscent of the aesthetic of Studio Ghibli. But the mastermind behind the illusion, Studio Ghibli founder Miyazaki Hayao, is not with the crowd. Born on January 5, 1941, in Tokyo, Miyazaki began working on animation in 1963 in Toei Douga and eventually co-founded Studio Ghibli in 1985 with Isao Takahata and Suzuki Toshio. Named after the Caproni Ca.309 aircraft nickname, the studio became a global phenomenon through such hand-drawn masterpieces like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke. Miyazaki, himself a manga artist whose series include Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, is a long-time proponent of the human touch in art. In an earlier interview, he wasn’t hesitant to share his opinion about AI-generated animation, calling it an “insult to life itself.” He was appalled by the technology and stated that the people who developed it have no sense of pain and humanness, and vowed never to employ it in his work. As fans flood social media with AI-crafted Ghibli-style visuals, Miyazaki’s critique raises a deeper question about the soul of art in an increasingly digital age.

  1. Language Policy Sparks Fire Between Tamil Nadu’s Stalin and UP’s Adityanath
Language Policy Sparks Fire Between Tamil Nadu’s Stalin and UP’s Adityanath

A fiery debate over India’s language policy erupted this week as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath traded barbs. On March 27, Stalin took to X to blame Adityanath for “political black comedy” after the latter spoke against Tamil Nadu’s opposition to the three-language policy. Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu’s call for a two-language system and mere delimitation is ringing bells throughout the country, keeping the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) uneasy. He stated that the state never goes against any language but resists imposition, making the issue a struggle of dignity, and not vote-bank politics. Adityanath, in an ANI interview, had accused Stalin of divisive politics and said that the position of Tamil Nadu is a result of “narrow politics” driven by phobias of losing voter numbers. He praised Tamil as one of India’s oldest languages, alongside Sanskrit, and highlighted PM Modi’s Kashi-Tamil Sangamam initiative as a unifying effort. Tamil Nadu BJP leader K Annamalai jumped into the fray, branding Stalin a “con artist” for opposing the three-language policy in government schools while his family allegedly runs private schools that teach multiple languages. Annamalai labeled Stalin as a hypocrite and dismissed his move as diversion from failure to rule, making the political standoff harsher.

  1. Mamata Banerjee Faced by Protests at Oxford, BJP’s Malviya Calls Her a ‘Disgrace
Mamata Banerjee Faced by Protests at Oxford, BJP’s Malviya Calls Her a ‘Disgrace

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was in the midst of a storm during a speech delivered at Oxford University’s Kellogg College on March 27, when protesters had disrupted her lecture with slogans opposing what they claimed was violence being unleashed on Hindus and women in her state. The protesters were angered by post-poll violence and the RG Kar College scandal, leaving Banerjee visibly shaken. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya seized the moment, condemning her on X as a “disgrace to West Bengal.” He labeled her a “meek shadow” of her regular self, a far cry from the combative leader she is behind the veil of West Bengal Police. Malviya charged the Hindu Bengali diaspora community with calling for her ouster for defaming the state’s legacy and blaming her for having overseen a “genocide of Hindus” and for not filing cases against women’s violence, including in Sandeshkhali and RG Kar. Banerjee retaliated against protesters by challenging her party to work on developing power in West Bengal to combat her. Malviya called for a free and fair 2026 election, charging the limitations on police brutality with threatening her very existence, projecting an image of a beleaguered leader domestically and internationally.

  1. Bengaluru Murder Shocks Community: Woman’s Body Found in Suitcase, Husband Detained
Bengaluru Murder Shocks Community Woman’s Body Found in Suitcase, Husband Detained

Shocking crime was unearthed in Bengaluru on March 27 when police discovered the body of 32-year-old Gauri Khedekar packed in a suitcase inside her rented residence in Doddakammanahalli, which comes under the Hulimavu police station jurisdiction. Gauri, a Maharashtrian, had moved into the third-floor flat with her husband, Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, in February 2025. The couple of two years appeared to lead an ordinary life—Rakesh, a project manager in a private firm, worked from home, and Gauri, a mass media graduate, was searching for employment. But on Tuesday, Rakesh fled to Mumbai, and on Thursday evening, he allegedly called the landlord to confess to the murder. The landlord alerted the police around 5:30 p.m., leading to the grim discovery. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sarah Fatima revealed that Gauri’s body bore stab wounds, and Rakesh, who had been detained in Pune, was being brought back to Bengaluru for questioning. The reason is unclear, but the savagery of the crime—stuffing the body in a suitcase—has sent shockwaves through the community, expecting answers as the investigation continues.

  1. China’s Xi Jinping Seeks Deeper Bangladesh Relations
China’s Xi Jinping Seeks Deeper Bangladesh Relations

Amid India Standoff With diplomatic ties between India and Bangladesh becoming increasingly strained, Chinese President Xi Jinping sat down with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus in Beijing on March 28, reflecting a drive for closer bilateral relations. Xi stated China was willing to enhance cooperation with Dhaka, emphasizing mutual collaboration on major topics like national sovereignty and territorial integrity, CCTV state broadcaster said. The two leaders exchanged views on possibilities for cooperation, including economic and technological aid, cultural, sports, and media exchanges. The talks also touched on the status of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, who fled Myanmar’s 2017 military coup. Yunus, the 84-year-old Nobel laureate who assumed office in August after the ousting of ex-PM Sheikh Hasina, arrived in China on Wednesday to participate in the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference in Hainan and then proceed to Beijing. Hosted by Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, Yunus will be going back home on Saturday after more high-level talks. The summit underscores China’s strategic interest in South Asia, particularly with Bangladesh experiencing tumultuous relations with India, reflecting the region’s shifting geopolitical landscape.

  1. U.S. Names India and China as Key Players in Fentanyl Crisis Ahead of Trump Tariffs
U.S. Names India and China as Key Players in Fentanyl Crisis Ahead of Trump Tariffs

In a significant move, the United States has named India and China as “state actors” of the global fentanyl trafficking syndicate, just days ahead of President Donald Trump’s new tariffs. The 2025 Annual Threat Assessment, published on March 25 by the U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, emphasized the involvement of both countries in providing precursor chemicals and machinery used to manufacture illicit fentanyl, a synthetic opioid responsible for more than 52,000 U.S. fatalities during the period ending October 2024. The report is the first time Washington has put India on the same level as China, with the report stating that though Mexico’s Sinaloa and Jalisco cartels control production, they source materials from these Asian countries. China continues to be the main source, with India as a lesser but increasing supplier. The report comes after a federal case in Washington, D.C., where an Indian chemical company and executives had been indicted for smuggling fentanyl precursors, with two employees of the Hyderabad-based company arrested in New York. The report did also mention threats posed by groups like ISIS-Khorasan, but the fentanyl focus is directly attributed to Trump’s crackdown on trade, combining drug policy with economic power.

  1. Fatal Confrontation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua Kills Policemen and Terrorists
Fatal Confrontation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua Kills Policemen and Terrorists

A shootout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on March 27 resulted in the deaths of four policemen and three terrorists and injured seven other officers, including a deputy superintendent of police. The operation, which erupted on the outskirts of Rajbagh’s Ghati Juthana belt village of Jakhole at about 8 a.m., included the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) supported by the Army and CRPF. The operation was targeted against five suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad militants believed to have infiltrated from Pakistan in the recent past. Early gunfire injured six policemen, including the SDPO in charge of the search, but the combined forces pushed forward, neutralizing three ultras in an all-day shootout characterized by explosions and intense firing. The Indian Army’s Rising Star Corps honored the dead policemen on X, saluting their courage without releasing casualty figures. It is unclear whether the terrorists were part of an earlier group fleeing a cordon in Sanyal forest or a new batch. Local youths were seen assisting security forces, carrying weapons into the gorge, underscoring the locals’ role in the high-risk operation.

  1. Lucknow Super Giants Beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 Thriller Lucknow
Lucknow Super Giants Beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 Thriller Lucknow

Super Giants (LSG) won their inaugural match of the IPL 2025 season on March 27, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by five wickets in a thrilling match that was completed in just 16.1 overs. In chasing a total of 191, LSG’s Nicholas Pooran (70) and Mitchell Marsh (52) laid the platform with aggressive batting, though SRH captain Pat Cummins dismissed both of them. Abdul Samad’s 22 of 8 balls in a blistering onslaught against his former team sealed the game for LSG. Shardul Thakur had previously been crucial with the ball, taking 4 wickets to keep SRH at 190/9. Thakur dismissed Abhishek Sharma (6), Ishan Kishan (0), Abhinav Manohar, and Mohammed Shami, following up on his performance against Delhi Capitals in an earlier match. SRH’s chase was a drama-filled affair—a bizarre run-out of Heinrich Klaasen as the bowler Prince Yadav deflected the stumps and Travis Head’s tumble for 47 after being dropped twice in powerplay. Yadav’s spell, along with Thakur’s heroics, left LSG’s bowlers to set the chase that could be successfully completed by their batsmen, and a great start for Rishabh Pant’s team.
