For the first time in history, on Monday, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name as the youngest player ever to be taken under the wing of the IPL during an auction that took place in Jeddah. The Bihar prodigy fetched ₹1.10 crore after sparking a bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, with the latter claiming the rising star.
Vaibhav had started his fantastic journey by making a record Ranji Trophy debut when he was only 12 years and 284 days old, thus becoming the youngest ever in the history of the tournament. Youth cricket found this player a performer. He played almost 400 runs in five games for Bihar in Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Earlier this year, he became the youngest Indian to achieve an international century; he achieved it during a Youth Test against Australia U-19.
It was learnt that Rajasthan Royals batting coach Vikram Rathour was much impressed during trials by the young Vaibhav, who hit three sixes during a critical over. Vaibhav hasn’t made a good mark in first-class cricket as yet, but the potential this man has is tremendous, and he will certainly prove to be an asset for Rajasthan.

Drake took Universal Music Group to court for allegedly increasing the “unfair advantage” a rival song “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar has enjoyed through fraudulent means. Drake, according to a New York petition, claims that UMG deployed bots and decreased platform license rates on online services like Spotify in an effort to increase the visibility of this song and inflate its success.
In response, UMG denied the allegations, stating that the label follows the code of ethics in marketing. “Fans choose the music they want to hear,” the label said, dismissing the allegations as baseless.
This controversy brings light on the concerns surrounding the artificial streaming practice within the music industry. While some artists have been caught up inflating their streams previously, UMG and Spotify have denied any such practice for “Not Like Us.
