Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was seen enjoying the Champions Trophy 2025 final match between India and New Zealand in Dubai with RJ Mahvash. Their sighting together in the stands has raised curiosity among fans, given the ongoing rumors about Chahal’s divorce case against choreographer Dhanashree Verma.
In the hot final match, Chahal and Mahvash were observed cheering madly for Team India. Several pictures of them became viral on social media, and people started jumping to conclusions about their relationship soon enough. In one moment, Chahal was also spotted leaning over and whispering something in Mahvash’s ears, leading people to assume even more that their relationship was intimate. Even though the duo hasn’t clarified the nature of their relationship, appearing together indeed left cricket enthusiasts in a daze.
Holi 2025 is expected to witness a colossal business spurt, with sales likely to breach ₹60,000 crore, a 20% increase compared to last year. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has reported that increased spending by consumers ahead of the festival is driving the economic boom.
In Delhi alone, sales are expected to total ₹8,000 crore as people prepare for grand Holi celebrations. The festival is likely to generate economic activity, which will benefit local businesses, traders, small-scale industries, and MSMEs. Over 3,000 Holi Milan parties are being organized in Delhi, with banquet halls, farmhouses, hotels, and restaurants all booked to capacity for festive functions.
This year, customers and merchants chose to boycott Chinese products and instead chose gulal, herbal color, pichkaris (water pistols), balloons, and pooja products of Indian make. The festival clothing, sweets, dry fruits, giftware, and house decoration demand too is at all-time high. The consumer palate is shifting to herbal gulal and natural hues, and spray gulal is also becoming more popular.
Mark Carney, the 59-year-old former governor of the Bank of Canada and Bank of England, has been voted the new Prime Minister of Canada. According to his first policy statement after election victory, Carney left no scope for any doubt about where he stood regarding U.S.-Canada relations when he asserted, “Canada will never ever be part of America in any way, shape, or form.”
Carney, who secured over 85% of the vote in the Liberal Party leadership election, was vociferous in his criticism of former United States President Donald Trump’s continued comments regarding making Canada the 51st state of the U.S. In an address to supporters, Carney stated Americans were jealous of Canada’s resources, water, and land but cautioned that success in doing so would destroy the Canadian way of life.
He also dismissed Trump’s threat of tariffs, promising that Canada will continue to retaliate until the U.S. remains committed to free trade. “We cannot and will not let Trump succeed,” he said.
Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) will release the Group 1 Mains Examination results on March 10, 2025. Those candidates who have appeared for the exam can access their results through the official TSPSC website, tspsc.gov.in.
With the evaluation process now complete, the final merit list has been prepared, shortlisting candidates in a 1:2 ratio for the next round of recruitment. This recruitment drive aims to fill 563 vacancies across various government departments.

Vanuatu Prime Minister Jotham Napat has directed the Citizenship Commission to cancel Lalit Modi’s Vanuatu passport following India’s unsuccessful attempt to issue an Interpol alert against him.
According to Napat, while background checks initially turned up no criminal convictions, Interpol later rejected India’s alert request twice because of a dearth of concrete judicial evidence. Had the alert been issued, Modi’s request for citizenship would have been refused automatically.
Napat emphasized that holding a Vanuatu passport is an honor, not a privilege, and the applicants must have proper reasons to acquire citizenship. “None of those good reasons are to attempt to avoid extradition,” he asserted.
India lifted the Champions Trophy 2025 title after a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in Dubai. Skipper Rohit Sharma hit a match-winning 76 from 83 balls to set the foundation for India’s successful 252-run pursuit.
Shubman Gill (31), Shreyas Iyer (48), and KL Rahul (34*) played crucial roles as India chased down the target with one over to spare. Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav were the heroes of the bowling attack, taking two scalps each to restrict New Zealand to 251/7.
India’s victory is their return to the lime light in ICC events as the team secured a complete all-round performance.
Though Pakistan is scheduled to host the Champions Trophy 2025 as the official hosts, no members of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were present during the post-match presentation ceremony at the stage. The event triggered criticism from current and former cricketers.
The trophy was awarded to Rohit Sharma by ICC Chairman Jay Shah, while medals to the match officials were given by BCCI President Roger Binny. Many believe that PCB officials would have been among the celebrants since Pakistan had been hosting the tournament.
In the wake of India’s Champions Trophy victory, Rohit Sharma negated retirement speculations from international cricket. “Abhi hum koi retire nahi ho rahe (We are not retiring now),” he said amidst the post-match revelry, much to the relief of fans.
Virat Kohli, who was beside Rohit, burst out laughing on hearing the statement. The two experienced cricketers had previously retired from T20 internationals after India’s T20 World Cup victory in 2024, causing speculations about their return to ODIs. Rohit’s statement, however, confirmed that he and Kohli are not retiring from the game anytime soon.
England cricketer Harry Brook has withdrawn from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 because he needs to focus on his international team commitments.
Brook, who was picked up by Delhi Capitals for ₹6.25 crore during the IPL auction, could now be given a two-season ban as per the new rules of the tournament. The rule states that any player who withdraws after being picked up in the auction (without any injury or medical condition) will be ineligible for the next two IPL seasons.
Brook elucidated his motive in a release, wherein he declared, “It is an hugely significant moment for England cricket, and I need to be utterly dedicated to preparing for the series.”
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shortlisted Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar as Indian members to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Shukla will be an Executive Member, whereas Shelar will be an Ex-Officio Board Member.
Their inductions are successive of Jay Shah’s elevation as ICC Chairman. ACC’s first task will be to organize the next Asia Cup in September in a neutral venue. The question is being debated on whether the tournament can be organized in Sri Lanka or the UAE.
